Tuensang, March 3 (MExN): More than 70 MSME entrepreneurs from Tuensang, Shamator and Noklak districts participated in a two-day Vendor Development Programme (VDP) held on February 26 and 27 at Tuensang Town Hall under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme.
The programme was organised by YouthNet in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC), and the Ministry of MSME as part of the World Bank-supported RAMP scheme.
The initiative aimed to bring together Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and financial institutions to facilitate business linkages by exploring vendor opportunities and enhancing market access.
It also focused on creating awareness about government schemes to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs, informed a press release from the YouthNet.
During the sessions, representatives from the State GST Department, State Bank of India (SBI), Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC), Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), and Nagaland State Co-operative Bank addressed participants on GST compliance for MSMEs, vendor development and credit linkages, NHHDC initiatives, KVIC schemes, promotion of indigenous products under RAMP’s ‘Naturally Nagaland’ initiative, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), and Amazon seller registration and product listing.
The programme also featured experience-sharing by two local entrepreneurs, who provided insights into their MSME journeys and practical aspects of business development.
An exhibition of MSME products was organised alongside the event, showcasing local products from sectors including food processing, handloom, handicrafts, weaving, retail, agriculture and service-based enterprises.
YouthNet informed that similar programmes will be organised in other districts to further empower MSMEs and strengthen Nagaland’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
