The 71st All India Cooperative week was celebrated in Kiphire on November 16. It was organised by Assistant Registrar of Cooperatives Societies, Kiphire, with the theme 'Role of cooperative in Building Viksit Bharat' at R.M Seili Complex Opposite SBI, Kiphire, with Deputy Commission, Temsuwati Longkumer as guest of Honour in the presence of HoDs of Agri and Allied departments Kiphire. 

Speaking at the event as guest of honour, DC Kiphire highlighted the role of cooperatives societies in ensuring inclusive growth, alleviating poverty, and empowering rural economy. 

He stated 'cooperatives are the backbone of India's economic structure as they not only help us achieve self-sufficient but is vital in building a 'Viksit Bharat' a prosperous and developed nation. 

DC underlined that Cooperative society play a significant role in ensuring economic stability for farmers in rural areas especially in sectors like agriculture, dairy, and banking. 

He called upon registered societies in Kiphire to have clear vision and objectives keeping in mind the availability of resources and market demand. 

Stating that today Cooperative Society plays a pivotal role in alleviating rural economy and employment he called for doing away with registering societies just for the sake of availing subsidies. 

Delivering keynote address K Lerichum Anar, ARCS, Kiphire underscore the importance of contribution made by cooperatives society especially in the field of agriculture, banking, and self help groups which have enabled rural farmers to access credit, markets, and essential resources. 

He stated cooperatives embody the true spirit of collective effort, and the decentralised approach aligns uniquely with the vision of a developed Indian. 

He said the purpose of providing computer set to selected cooperatives societies is in line with the digital transformation of cooperatives societies, enhancing financial literacy, and building innovative models to integrate modern technology with traditional cooperatives practices. 

As part of the weeklong 'Viksit Bharat' celebration 16 selected cooperatives societies were given computer set.
