The 75th Republic Day celebration on Friday was observed all across Nagaland state in the respective district headquarters and sub-divisions. Unfurling and hoisting of National Flag was also conducted in government offices, institutions, official residences, and business establishments among others.
During the occasion, the chief guests in all the locations unfurled the National Flag, took the Rashtriya salute, followed by inspection of the parade and the delivery of Republic day speech.

They also inaugurated the exhibition stalls setup by Agriculture Departments, DRDA & NSRLM, Horticulture Department, Fishery Department, Medical Department, DEO (Employment), and ATMA, Urban Development Department and District Legal Service Authority etc. Various cultural performances were also presented. The programme ended with the Beating of the Retreat.
Wokha: The 75th Republic Day celebration at local ground, Wokha was graced by Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye as the chief guest.
The parade review was done by Additional SP Wokha. The march past was led by Parade Commander Sangthing Khiam, NPS, SDPO Wokha and Parade 2 I/C ABI Nzanthung Lotha 7th NAP. Diverse contingents Parade CHM, DEF Wokha, 7th NAP, H/G, Ex-Servicemen, NCC Mt Tiyi College, Bharat Scout & Guide and Band Party Fernbrook School participated with enthusiasm.
Cultural performances included folk song presented by Wokha Town Longsa Cultural Troupe and Folk Dance presented by Liosangsu Cultural Troupe, Wokha village. A cricket exhibition match was played between DC 11 and Wokha District Cricket Association.
The event was chaired by Khyopenthung Tsopoe, Associate Professor, MTC Wokha and Dr W Meribeni Patton, Assistant Professor, MTC Wokha.
Tuensang: The 75th Republic Day at Tuensang town was graced by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor Agriculture. The parade was inspected by Limasunep Jamir, DIG (R) 3rd NAP, Tuensang, in the presence of Parade Commander Tiannungba, Assistant Commandant, 3rd NAP, Tuensang, and Parade 2nd in Command Tohanba Quinker, ABI, DEF Tuensang.

A total of eight contingents participated in the parade, representing DEF Tuensang, 3rdNAP Tuensang, Village Guard Tuensang Village, Village Guard Konya Village, Ex-Servicemen, National Cadet Corp (NCC) from St. John’s Higher Secondary School Tuensang, Bharat Scouts & Guides, and 3rdNAP Bag Pipe Band.
Highlighting the contributions of farmers in the district, the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Farmers Awards were presented to outstanding individuals in the field of Agriculture and Allied sectors. The Best Farmer Award for the year 2023-24 was conferred upon Ayenmongba Chang of Chendang Village for Apiculture and Agriculture, and Lirichem for Farmer Outreach and Technology Dissemination.
The cultural segment showcased performances by Changen Cultural Troupe, Sangli Cultural Troupe, Khiamniungan Cultural Troupe, Kemifu Cultural Troupe, and Tikhir Women Dancing Troupe. Jazz Band 29 Assam Rifles, Tuensang, added a musical touch to the festivities. The exhibition was inaugurated by Advisor Mhathung Yanthan.
Later in the day, various institutions and hospitals were visited by different authorities. The District Jail was visited by DDMA, District Hospital by COC, Assam Rifles Hospital by IRCS, 3rdNAP Hospital by CTS, and Children Homes by DPO (ICDS).
The day also featured an exhibition football match organized by the Chang Sports Association (CSA), followed by a Retreat from the 3rd NAP Bag Pipe Band.
Zunheboto: Advisor for Food & Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, KT Sukhalu, took the Rashtrya salute at Zunheboto district on the 75th Republic Day celebration. A DIPR report stated that altogether, ten parade contingents participated in the march past, which was led by parade commander, Assistant Commandant, 8 NAP Naltoqa, KP Lotha and parade 2 I/C, ASI, DEF Zunheboto, Shihu Angami. Cultural item was presented by Natha New village Women Cultural Troupe and a special song was presented by Zhimokali K Rotokha.
Mokokchung: The 75th Republic Day celebrated at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung was graced by Minister, PHED & Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi. The Minister gave away the Certificate of Merit to the winners of poetry writing competition, Sentinaro Jamir and Odichung Jamir. The competition was held on account of 16 Days Activism against Gender Based Violence on the theme ‘United Invest to prevent violence against Women and Girls’ an initiative under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mokokchung. Altogether 9 Parade Contingents took part in the March Past including DEF Mokokchung, 2nd NAP Alichen, 13th NAP (IR), Home Guards, Ex-Servicemen, NCC Fazl Ali College, NCC Mayangnokcha GHSS, Bharat Scout & Guides and 2nd NAP Pipe Band with Parade Commander, Benrio Shitio, Asst Commandant 2nd NAP, Alichen and Mangjai Phom 2nd in Command. Others highlights included martial arts demonstration by Mokokchung District Martial Arts Association, cultural presentation by Mopungsanger Ola, Ungma village and Tug of War match between Ladies Club, Mokokchung and Lady Officers, Mokokchung.
Phek: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at local ground, Phek with Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Dr Neisatuo Mero as the special guest. Five parade contingents in the programme were led by Parade Commander, Assistant Commandant, 5 NAP Phek, Vedehu Theluo, Parade Second-in-Command, ABI, DEF, Phek, Keviletou Soliezuo and Parade CHM, HAV, DEF Phek, Pota Chakhesang. The celebration was mark with cultural dance performed by Bible Hill Ward, Phek Town and Jericho II Ward, Phek Town, Women Inter-Ward ‘Tug of War’ competition and a football exhibition match played between Phek District Veteran Sports Association (PDVSA) and DC XI.
Longleng: In Longleng, the 75th Republic Day was celebrated with Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports S Keoshu Yimchunger, as the special guest at public ground Longleng. There were sic parade contingents including DEF Longleng, 12th NAP IR Chingtok, Village Guard, Bautung Government Higher Secondary school Longleng, Yingli College and 12th NAP IR Chingtok Pipe Band. Other highlights included folk dance Vangnyu Phangngola by Orangkong village and folk song by Yachem Students, Unit Longleng.
The penalty shootout exhibition match (male) was participated by the Police, DCs office, DRDA, Education, 12th IR Chingtok, PPC, PSC and LTSU. In the women category: DC office, Medical, Education, BGHSS, Yingli College and Phomla Hoichem participated in the penalty shootout competition.
Kiphire: The 75th Republic day was observed at Kiphire town with Advisor for Fire & Emergency, Home Guards and Civil Defence, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger as the special guest. National Anthem was performed by Pipe Band 41 Assam Rifles. Later, the special guest inaugurated the exhibition stalls organised by Agri & allied and other departments. As part of the celebration, Tikhir Women Union Kiphire Town presented a cultural folk dance. Special songs were presented by Leochum V Thonger, and Marlen. A football exhibition match was also played between New Ageis FC and United Vikings, and beating of retreat by DEF Kiphire.
Mon: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at local ground, Mon with Minister Housing & Mechanical Engineering P Bashangmongba Chang as the special guest. The eight parade continents during the occasion included 6th NAP BN Tizit; DEF Mon; VG; Ex-Servicemen; NCC Wangkhao Govt College; Bharat Scout and Guides Don Bosco School; Govt Higher Secondary School (D) and 6th NAP BN pipe Band. Other highlight included special number by Yangman Konyak, duet by Atzing K Naga, ABC & Wangchem Konyak, patriotic dance by Mon Vale College Students, GHSS, Mon, and Culture Dance by Women Cultural Troupe, Mopong Hongkong Union, Mon Town.
Peren: Deputy Chief Minister, Home and Border Affairs, Yanthungo Patton graced the 75th Republic day celebration at Peren District Headquarter. The parade continents included DEF Peren; 9th IRB Saijang; NCC Peren Government College Peren; NCC Government Higher Secondary School Peren; JNV Peren and Baptist Higher Secondary School Peren. The 1st Parade Commander was Lunso SDPO Jalukie and the Second Parade Commander was N MhabemoJ ungio ABSI respectively. Zaiwang song was presented by Zeliangrong. New Broom by Kezanglwa Cultural Troupe, GHS DC Colony Peren and Peren Student Union participated in the entertainment.
Noklak: Minister, Road & Bridges, Government of Nagaland G Kaito Aye attended the 75th Republic day at public ground, Noklak. Altogether there were seven contingents led by Parade commander ABI Evai Phom, Parade 2 I/C ABSI Penthung, Parade CHM Hav Peshio K Khiamniungan. The parade contingents consisted of DEF & NAP, Village Guard Nokhu, Village Guard Old Pangsha, Ex-Servicemen, NCC GHSS Noklak, NCC GHS Noklak village and Holy Angels School Noklak. The National Anthem was sung by St Paul School, Noklak. Kaito also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments. Other highlights of the day were cultural dance by Village Guards, Bow & Arrow and toy spinning displayed by Khiamniungan Sports Council and special song by Miraculum Society, Noklak. To mark the occasion, various departments led by District Administration visited District Hospital, Noklak and Adora Children’s home, Noklak. In the afternoon, Tug of War between All Ward Union of Noklak versus Dobashis/GBs was played and volleyball exhibition match was played between Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam units.
Tseminyu: 75th Republic day was celebrated at Rengma Sports Association Ground, Tseminyu with Minister for Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Village Guards, CL John as special guest. Altogether five parade contingents, 4th NAP 'B 'COY, GHSS (NCC), GHSS Tseminyu, Baptist Hr. Sec. School Tseminyu-NCC and DBS Tseminyu -NCC. The highlights of the programme were cultural song by La Kethyu Logwa of Tseminyu village and special number presented by Akenyu Semp. Later, the Minister inaugurated the exhibition stalls being set up by various departments under Tseminyu.
Chümoukedima: Minister of Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse graced the 75th Republic Day at Chümoukedima District at Chümoukedima Town Public ground.
The participants of the parade contingents were NCC Contingents from Govt. Higher Secondary School; Tetso College; St Joseph University; Ex-servicemen; Patkai Christian College; Pipe Band ARTC & S. Shokhuvi. Folk dance was performed by Kuki and Phom cultural troupe. The day ended with a retreat by the ARTC & S Shokhuvi.
Niuland: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at Niuland town with Advisor for Industries & Commerce Hekani Jakhalu. The five parade contingents were under the command of Imotemjen Jamir, Dy SP Niuland. Later the Advisor inaugurated the exhibition stalls. The program also witness special presentation by InSync Taekwondo Academy and Band display by 7 AR while folk dance (women) and folk dance (men) were performed by New Showuba and Suhoi Village respectively.
Shamator: The 75th Republic Day celebration was held at Public Ground, Shamator Town with special guest, Advisor, IT & C, Economics & Statistics & Evaluation, Sethrongkyu. Highlights of the programme included presentation of patriotic song by Yantsula K, Taekwondo demonstration by Shamator District Taekwondo Association, inauguration and inspection of exhibition stalls by the special guest and cultural presentation by Mongtsüwong cultural troupe and Alipok Pailu Cultural Troupe Shamator village.
Sanis: In Sanis, the celebration was graced by Advisor for CAWD & Taxes Kudecho Khamo as the chief guest at GHS Ground, Sanis Town. Altogether three parade contingents- 14 NAP (IR) C COY, St Paul School, Sanis, Don Bosco School, Lakhuti took part in the March Past. The contingents were led by Parade Commander ABSI Y Benthungo Shitiri, 14th NAP (IR) C COY and 2nd Commander Naik Nzanbemo Lotha, DEF Wokha. Special presentation was made by Women Cultural Troupe, Sanis village followed by inauguration of stalls by the chief guest.
NEISSR: North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Chümoukedima marked the 75th Republic Day at its college premises with Rev Fr George Vekupa Rakho, Director Pastoral Centre, and Director of Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM), as the chief guest. Visekunu Thol of MSW II moderated the programme, which commenced with an invocation by Sr Resmy SJSM, Academic Coordinator, NEISSR. Rev Fr GL Khing, Vice Principal, NEISSR delivered the welcome address, and Alei Wangnao, BSW IV, Assistant Finance Secretary of SCSC, NEISSR gave the vote of thanks.
PVHSS: Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur observed the 75th Republic Day at its school premises. Tri-Colour Flag was hoisted by Swami Barunanandaji Maharaj, Swami Arindamanandaji Maharaj, Swami Parasanandaji Maharaj and Monoj Bhattacharjee, Principal, PVHSS, Dimapur. Group song presented by the teachers, short speech delivered by Swami Parasanandaji Maharaj, Pritam Debnath od class-11, Arts also delivered a speech.
TGOUN: The Global Open University (Nagaland) commemorated the 75th Republic Day at its campus. Dr HN Dutta, Vice Chancellor, TGOUN led the flag hoisting ceremony and delivered an address underscoring the significance of the historic day. Dr Roopam Bachhil, Registrar, TGOUN elucidated the integral role of discipline in shaping the framework of our Constitution.
Ram Janaki HSS: Ram Janaki Hr Sec School celebrated 75th Republic Day in its school campus. The Authority, Principal and Staff and some students of Class-9 to 12 assembled at Tri-Colour Flag hoisting ceremony and followed by Principal’s address on the values and significance of the day.
