78-year-old author unveils ‘Themia Khunuo Kemevi’

“Where do they live? Where do they sleep? What do they eat? What challenges do they face?” These are some of the questions that 78-year-old Kethoselie Zhale from Rüsoma Village set out to ask during his many years of research on wereanimals that has now resulted into a book titled, “Themia Khunuo Kemevi” (Were-Animals).

The book, written in Tenyidie and also marking the 102nd publication of PenThrill was formally released by Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President, Ura Academy on May 28 at Ura Academy Badi, Kohima. 

During the formal release of the book which was held as part of the 55th Tenyidie Annual Seminar under the theme “Reminiscent Language”, the author, Kethoselie Zhale also delivered a brief address. He spoke about how his interest in the subject led him to do an extensive research involving several years of conducting interviews and learning about their lives before putting it into writing.

“Themia Khunuo Kemevi” is the fourth book published in Tenyidie under PenThrill, and explores the tales of wereanimals featuring real encounters of people from yesteryears. 

Mention may be made here that Kethoselie Zhale was born on June 20, 1947, and taught in a government school from 1972 till he retired in the year 2006. He served the Church in different capacities and is now regarded as a church elder since he turned 75. He has authored eight books in Tenyidie and currently serves as the Rüsoma Village Council Chaplain.
