7th Mile Model Village Council cautions

Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): The 7th Mile Model Village Council has warned individuals or groups engaging in anti-social activities and asked them to abstain from the same.

It has also asked the general public to report any suspicious activity to the Council.

It lauded the governmental agencies involved in busting the ‘illegal liquor unit’ in its jurisdiction on September 2.

Stating that it was not “aware of any movement or activities that could amount to something like an illegal liquor unit,” the Council said that the perpetrators must have used other private lanes to avoid public view.

There are 7 village lanes that connect directly to the National Highway 29 and no suspicious activities as such were noticed in these lanes, it said.

A statement from the 7th Mile Model Village Council chairman and GB requested the authority to take stern action against the perpetrators who have tarnished the image of the village.

Further, the Council said that it will continue to extend support and cooperation to the Civil Societies in and around Chümoukedima to ban the sale and consumption of alcohol in line with the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act.
