The 7th edition of Mokokchung AutoX & Up Hill Climb organized by the Adventure and Motorsport Association Mokokchung (AMAM) was flagged off on January 30 at Sungratsü Sports Complex, Mokokchung. The event has 44 participants representing seven teams from three states namely Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Assam.
Day one of the event saw the blending Autocross race where the racers competed in three autocross category: Below 1300CC Category, SUV Category and Open CATEGORY.
Toshimongla Kichu, Project Director of DRDA, Nagaland was the special guest at the flagging off ceremony. In a brief inaugural program, Toshimongla Kichu said thatas sportsmen, regardless of the sport, individuals need to embody discipline and encouraged the gathering to lead a good lifestyle so that others will look up to in the age of global connectivity through social media.
She challenged all participants to use sports, such as racing, to promote brotherhood and contribute to regional tourism development. Kichu emphasised the importance of authentically depicting Nagas and their lifestyle through hobbies and involvement in events that improve the community's spirit.
Moasashi Jamir, President of AMAM, in his addressstated that it has been an effort for AMAM to provide a platform for all motorsport enthusiasts, no matter how small the platform is. He hoped that the participants would give their best and welcomed all participants from different places to be a part of the event.
The seven teams participating in the event are Nagaland Adventure Club, Street King Club Dimapur, Team RD Dimapur, Kohima Adventure MotorsportClub, Nagaland 4X4 Kohima and Spearhead Motorsports Club and Team Shillong.
Day two of the 7th Mokokchung AUTOX & UP HILL CLIMB will witness the Up Hill Climb at Merakum Tzuin Resort along Yimchalu Road in Mokokchung. The event will conclude with Imtikumzuk Imsong, President BJP YUVA Mokokchung district, as the special guest in the
closing ceremony.
