Merama team- football winner of 84th KYO sports meet 2024 on January 27.

The three-day long 84th Annual Sports Meet 2024 of Kigwema Youth Organization (KYO) concluded today at Kholera Ground, Kigwema under Kohima district.
In the football final which was played on Saturday, Merama khel defeated Seca khel to emerge as the champion while in Volleyball, Khamima khel clinched both men's and women's category.
Earlier, the main highlight of the sports meet- Naga wrestling was held on Thursday where Kekheneito Kere of Khamima emerged the champion while Kekhrie Yhoshü, Ketouvilie Kere and Kheseto Zütso took the second, third and fourth prizes respectively.
The winning teams/sportspersons will represent the village in the forthcoming Southern Angami Sports Association tournament in February.Following a brief prize distribution ceremony, a new team of office bearers of Kigwema Youth Organization for the tenure 2024-2026 was announced.
The new team will be led by Nephrezo Thorie as president, Thejangulie Yakhro as vice president, Asale Yhoshü as general secretary, Tepfükhoto Yano as joint & information and publicity secretary, Kuzole Neihu as games & sports secretary (men), Athono Sale as games & sports secretary (women), Saleto Yhoshü as treasurer, Necgüto Zhasa as social & cultural secretary, and Vilebezo Phira as property secretary. Outgoing president Zakievilie Yhoshü will serve as advisor of the new team.
