DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 22 (MExN): The 8th Dimapur District Inter-Club Badminton Tournament was conducted from October 20 to 21 at Vidhya Bhavan Higher Secondary School, Kuda Village, Dimapur.
Altogether, 71 teams from various clubs across the district participated in the two-day tournament, organized by the Elite Badminton Club under the aegis of the Dimapur District Badminton Association (DDBA).
Gracing the inaugural programme on October 20, Abeio Kire, IFS (Retd.), Additional Chief Secretary, lauded the efforts of the Elite Badminton Club for promoting sportsmanship and nurturing badminton talent in the district.
Speaking as the special guest in the closing ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Dr Tinojongshi Chang congratulated the organizers for the successful conduct of the event and encouraged players to pursue excellence in the sport.
The tournament was held under the leadership of N Khate, Convenor of the tournament, and G Naga, President of the Elite Badminton Club, informed a press release from the organiser.
The tournament concluded with the distribution of certificates and awards to the winners and runners-up, it added, without elaborating on the winners.
