8th Mongmong football tourney underway

Kiphire, August 25 (MExN): Altogether 13 teams are taking part in the 8th edition of the Mongmong football tournament which is underway with Athrila SDO(C) as chief guest today. Speaking at the inauguration function today at the public ground she stated that places like Kiphire has less events happening, but with this tournament youngsters will be able to display their talents and exhibit what God has gifted to each ones of us.
Congratulating the organizers, the chief guest said that there should be peace in every sphere of activities, without which nothing will be able to get materialized and called upon the youngster and the players to inculcate the spirit of peace even through this tournament.  Advising the players the chief guest also added, ‘Sports is also one area where we display our personality so play with the spirit of sportsmanship’. She also wished the players to enjoy the tournament and so that not only people who witness the tournament enjoy, but amongst the players so that there will be befitting experiences in one’s life.
Speaking at the occasion, Yangkhabe V/President USLB said, ‘In the past our forefathers earn peace through exchange of kind and through merry making but today it is exchange through sports and wish all the team to give the best and participate in sportsmanship spirit.
Tsathrongo, GB Kiphire town who spoke on the occasion also shared the significance of Mongmong and expressed pleasure to the organizers and the participants for taking part with great zeal. Welcoming the gathering and the players K.Tsilise, convenor, said that 8th Mongmong tournament has recorded the highest enrolled team in the history of the tournament and assure the tournament will go on and also encourage the players to go beyond and not to focus only locally. The tournament will go till September 3. The program was chaired by Tsalichem, and Arola.
