8th Nagaland Canaan Farmers’ School Training held

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 6 (MExN): The 8th Nagaland Canaan Farmers’ School Training was held at CTC, Aolijen in Mokokchung District from October 3 to 6. 


The training was jointly Organised by ABAM and Clark Theological College. Resource persons for the training included Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, Executive Secretary, ABAM; Elder Kwan Soo Lee, Vice-President, World Canaan Farmers’ School Movement, Philippines; Dr. Sashiyangba, Assistant Project Officer, Land Resource, Govt. of Nagaland; and Rev. I. Wati Jamir, Pastor, Dimapur Ao Baptist Church.


The training focused on ‘mind-set transformation,’ ‘pioneering spirit project,’ and ‘natural farming.’


The Canaan Farmers’ School concept was originated in South Korea during 1960s and the School was instrumental in transforming the life of people and in attaining economic growth in Korea, informed a press release from ABAM.

 
“Today, it has become a world-wide movement and people from all walks of life are trying to avail this training.ABAM has been organizing this programme since 2015 and this is our 8th Training,’ it added.


Nagaland Canaan Farmers’ School is a member of World Canaan Movement, a recognised agency for sustainable development under Department of Public Information, United Nations (UN-DPI) since 2016.


Participants in this present training included 38 students and 2 staff of Clark Theological College.
