Naltoqa, April 3 (MExN): The 8th NAP, Naltoqa Zunheboto’s 9th Inter Coy Sports Meet-cum-36th Raising Day 2021 concluded on April 1 with Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo gracing the closing ceremony as the guest of honour.

ADM Coy received the overall champion trophy from the guest of honour, who also handed over other trophies and medals to the winners of various competitions, a DIPR report informed.  

Speaking on the occasion, Lichamo stated that such events bring out a common platform of friendship and often leave fond memories among the participants. 

He further urged them to always remain sincere towards serving the people and also administered the official closing of the event. 

Earlier, the Commandant 8th NAP and organising chairman, H Kuhovi Sema said that the battalion, also known ‘Dynamic Eight Batallion,’ was one of the oldest battalions established in 1985.

“We should always remain thankful to then initiators of the establishment and very importantly remember and thank the land donors from the neighbouring villages,” he added. 

The closing programme also featured general salute by the buglers and was followed by presentation of bamboo dance by unit school, weapon handling (blind folded), cultural dance from women department and march pass by the participating teams, the report said.  

Brief report of the event was presented by Dy Commandant and Organising Secretary, Y Kumtsu Yim and it ended with the traditional barakhana from the organiser, it added.
