
Peren, February 7 (MExN): The 8th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting for Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Peren, ICAR, Nagaland Centre was conducted at the DC Complex conference hall, New Peren on February 6.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr L Babita Devi, CTO (Animal Science), followed by presentation of the Progress Report 2024 by Dr KL Meena, Principal Scientist & Head, and Annual Action Plan for 2025 by respective SMSs. This session provided insights into the achievements of the previous year and outlined the strategic initiatives planned for the upcoming year, stated a press release.
SAC members shared their valuable views and engaged in a discussion aimed at 8th Scientific Advisory Committee in the region.
During the meeting, Dr H Kalita, HoRC, ICAR, Nagaland Centre highlighted the need of implementation of technologies since there is a gap between researcher and farmers. Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Jalukie, Dr I Shakuntala Devialso suggested the importance of taking research datas meticulously before popularizing, and also to maintain a proper record so that trials need not be repeated.
The chief guest, Hiazu Meru, Deputy Commissioner, Peren, appreciated the work done by KVK Peren, and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and convergence among all the line departments in agricultural advancements for the benefit of the farming community. He also appealed the farmers and FPO representatives present to bear in mind whatever is taught and put it to practice.
Altogether, 30 numbers of officials from different line departments, FPO representatives and progressive farmers attended the meeting.
