Dimapur, January 17 (MExN): 9 Assam Rifles conducted free Medical camp at Waromong Village on January 10, 2011 under aegis of Headquarters 7 Sector Assam Rifles. A team comprising of one Doctor and medical staff conducted the camp.
A press note issued by Lt Col RP Velu, PRO, IGAR (N) stated that a total of 210 patients including ladies and children received free medical treatment & free medicines. The camp was conducted from early morning till late evening, to attend to the patients who had come from far away villages. The camp was a huge success and the villagers and civil administration whole heartedly praised the noble gesture of the Assam Rifles and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the medical camp. Assam Rifles, on their part promised the villagers of their continued support to the population & their effort to live up to their reputation as ‘Friends of the Hill People’.
