Kohima, December 16 (MExN): 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 5 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp on December 14 at Chiephobozou in Kohima district. The camp, attended by villagers from Chiephobozou and Botsa sub-divisions, was specially organised on the request of local people with an aim to provide free medical treatment to the local populace where requisite medical facilities are not available.
A press release from the AR said that a specially constituted medical team under 2IC (CMO) N Sandhyarani conducted the medical camp wherein the team treated the patients besides distributing free medicines to the needy locals. A total of 205 patients comprising 65 males, 90 females and 50 children were treated. The medical team also conducted screening of diabetes. Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted.
