A nine year-old boy was killed on the spot when he was suddenly hit by one unknown vehicle at Nongpoh in Meghalaya.
This incident occurred at around 3 pm on Sunday when the boy who has been identified as Ripu Nongrum was trying to cross the National Highway-6 at Nongpoh near Alpha Higher Secondary School. He was hit by a speeding vehicle whose driver did not even stop to check on the boy.
Informed about the incident, Nongpoh police personnel rushed to the spot but found that the boy had died from the impact.
After a spot inquiry, police have sent the cadaver to Civil Hospital for the post mortem examination and the matter is under inquiry.
