9 years BJP Govt: NPCC poses nine questions

KOHIMA, JUNE 15 (MExN):  With the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launching a huge campaign to highlights its achievement, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) asked 9 rhetorical questions accusing the BJP of inflation and unemployment, mismanagement, and crony capitalism etc.

Why are inflation and unemployment skyrocketing in India? it asked, alleging that prices of all essential commodities have relentlessly risen since 2014 while Youth unemployment has risen to 30-40%.

In a press release issued by its president S Supongmeren Jamir, the NPCC also charged the BJP government of continuously blocking farmer demands on remunerative pricing of crops and cut in subsidies etc.

It also accused the government of favouring certain individuals and alleged that national assets like LIC and SBI are risking the savings of crores of policyholders and depositors to make investments and loans to risky companies.

The NPCC further maintained that even as China becomes “more aggressive and makes unreasonable demands on our sovereignty, the government has been sitting idle” and said that India is lacking a National Security Strategy for nine years.

It further stated that Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens sought to discriminate based on religion, even though citizens of all religions ended up paying the price for the administrative bungle.

On Social justice, the NPCC maintained that there is a rise in atrocities against Dalits of 23% since 2014.

The weakening of the Forest Rights Act shows contempt for the Adivasi community, it added.

Posing why BJP has weakened Constitutional values and democratic Institutions in the last nine years, the NPCC pointed out alleged “undermining of elected movements” in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh Maharashtra and Manipur etc as well “misuse” of Investigative agencies, “with 95% of CBI and ED cases involving politicians since 2014 being against Opposition leaders.” It also charged the government of cutting down allocation funds for welfare schemes of the poor such as MNREGA and the National Food Security Act

The NPCC also listed alleged COVID-19 mismanagement, including sudden lockdown, declaring premature victory after the first wave and being caught unprepared in second wave.
