90.8 Hills FM holds first inter school solo competition

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 15 (MExN): 90.8 Hills FM, the first community radio station in Dimapur, held its first-ever inter-school solo singing competition on November 14 in honour of Children's Day. The aim of the programme was to inspire, encourage and promote young budding talents. The participants were from grades 5 – 8.

Altogether 9 schools participated in the competition, two participants from each school. The 9 schools were Corner Stone School, Delhi Public School, El-Shaddai Academy, Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Livingstone Hr. Sec. School, Lima Aier Hr. Sec. School, St. Joseph Global School, St. Savio High School and The Maple Tree Hr. Sec. School. 

The competition was judged by Bethel Tsuzu, a pianist, music educator, entrepreneur and Director of Mountain Music Academy, and Thunglamo Ngulie, runners-up of Naga Idol 2012, Vocal Teacher at RS Academia, Shofar Music Academy and Milestone Music School. 

There were three cash-prize winners and three consolation prize winners. Jungtina Jamir of St. Savio High School won the first position, Iutoli Kiba of The Maple Tree Hr. Sec. School won the second position and the third position was bagged by Atoto Swo of Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School. 

The three consolation prizes were given to Livilo Chophy (Delhi Public School), Mutten Hangba (Corner Stone School) and Vungrono (El-Shaddai Academy).
