93 graduate from ASLB’s Ao language courses

The Ao Senden Literature Board (ASLB) held its 6th Arangtet Exam Convocation programme on July 6 at Ao Senden Conference Hall, Mokokchung. All together a number of 93 students graduated in three different courses including Post Graduate Diploma in Ao, Arangtet Certificate Course and Arangtet Diploma course. Arangtet is the ASLB's Ao proficiency exam.

ASLB also honored 11 individuals who have contributed towards the growth and development Ao language and literature through various platforms including Pasmashree T Senka Ao who was also present at the Convocation as the main speaker.

In his speech, he briefed on the history of the growth and development of Ao language and said that effort should be made to make Ao language a part of the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution.

He also urged the graduating students to not just hold the degree and be satisfied but to work and contribute towards the growth of the Ao language.

A Book ‘Ao Oshi Tensenyim’ authored by T Senka Ao was also released at the same event by Rev Longri.

Repabenla spoke on behalf of the graduating students while Chubawati Longchar also gave a short exhortation where he encouraged the graduating students to focus not only on getting jobs a Ao language teachers but also contribute to developing Ao language further.

The graduates were presented with their certificates by Dr L Temjen Jamir, Chairman ASLB and by President, Ao Senden. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Toshisangla, while welcome speech was given by Dr Medemmayang and the vote of thanks was pronounced by S Wati Ozukum.
