93rd battalion BSF celebrates Holi

The 93rd Battalion of the Border Security Force today celebrated the Holi festival at their battalion ground at Chedema, about 10 Kms from Kohima with D.K Pathak, former Director General of BSF and Chairman of Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) gracing the auspicious occasion as the Chief Guest.  

In a function held at the BSF Battalion ground, the Commandant of the 93rd BSF battalion Hemant Kumar welcomed the guests, the Chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group D K Pathak, Nagaland Director General of Police (Prison) Rupin Sharma and Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan. Speaking on the occasion, Pathak commended the Commandant 93 Battalion of BSF, for having organized such a festival in a grand manner, as the members of the battalion are celebrating Holi being far away of their home.  

He also extended his warm Holi greetings to all troops and their families and exhorted them to celebrate the festival of colours to bring peace, unity and harmony in the country.  

The jawans of the battalion also presented colourful cultural function and Hindi songs during the celebration. Meanwhile, Holi celebration in Kohima will take place at Gorkha Panchayat Complex, opposite Govt. Printing Press, Chandmari on March 13 at 10:00 AM.  

The celebration will begin with Deep Prajwalan and conclude with Holi sharing including cultural, traditional and entertainment programmes.
