95 villages in Phek dist have access to basic amenities

All 95 villages in Phek district have access to electricity, road connectivity, mobile phone service, fair price shop and water supply (PHED), according to the survey report on Local/Block Level Statistics for Local Level Planning 2020, published by Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Nagaland.

The Survey on Local/Block Level Statistics for Local Level Planning is conducted under the Support for Statistical Strengthening scheme during 2019-2020 emphasised on the major basic amenities available covering all the recognized villages of the rural development department.

Phek district has eight blocks with 95 villages, all of which have electricity, road connectivity, mobile phone service, fair price shop and water supply (PHED) as on January 31, 2020, the report stated.

The villages in Phek district have access to 14.8% of the state’s government bus and about 4% of the state’s private bus. Taxi service is available to 72.6% of the villages in Phek district.

Landline phone service is available to 5.2% of the villages and postal service covers 56.8% of villages in Phek district.

Villages of Phek district have access to 8.7 % of state’s Government Primary School, 6.3% of Government Middle School, 15% of Government High School and 12.5% of Government Higher Secondary School.

On an average, 9.7% of the state’s private educational institution is found in Phek district.

51.5 % of the villages in Phek district have Sub Centre facility, 22% have Primary Health Centre and one private clinic/hospital is located in a village in Phek district which accounts to about 1% of the villages.

21% of its villages have Veterinary Health Centre, 10.5% have Village Library, 90.5% have Village Council Hall and 84.2 % of the villages have playground.

About 5% of the state’s indoor stadium facility is located in villages of Phek district.

30.5% of its villages have marketing shed and close to 99% have Angawadi Centre.

Public toilet facility is available in 57.8% of the villages in the district.

About 2% of its villages have the facility of bank and ATM booth.

8.5% of the state’s police station is located in the district, which 4.5% of the state’s police beat post is found in the district.

Common Service Centre is available in 9.4% of the villages in Phek district, about 98% of the villages have Self Help Group and street light is available in 26.3% of the villages.
