DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 28 (MExN): The 9th Eagles' Trophy organised by the Eagles' Club, K Station got underway at KSU Ground, K Station Village on Thursday under the theme "Stepping Ahead for a bigger goal". The 9th edition features 15 teams vying for the title, the finals of which will be played on January 3.
The tournament kickstarted with a formal inaugural function with Khekiya Kath, Geologist, Directorate of Geology & Mining as the Chief Guest. Khitilo Wanth (President, Eagles' Club) delivered the welcome address while Johnny G Rengma (Non-Official Director, NSTFDC, Govt. of India) also addressed the gathering among other special presentations followed by the declaration of the tournament by the Chief Guest.
In the opening match, the defending Champions, Vanguard FC -Tseminyu defeated SYSC Red Wings 3-0. In the second match P2 Gamers defeated Ohi Warriors B 5-0 while in the third match SYSC Spartans defeated the Legends FC Kandinu through a tiebreaker after a 1-1 draw.
