JALUKIE, NOVEMBER 28 (MExN): The 9th Peren District Inter-Departmental Tournament commenced at the Indoor Stadium in Jalukie on November 28, showcasing a vibrant start to three days of spirited sports activities.
Gracing the inaugural ceremony as special guest, Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar, in his address, motivated the participants to engage in the tournament with a true sporting spirit. He expressed optimism that the event would not only be a platform for healthy competition but also foster positive relationships among the participating departments, a DIPR report stated.
Earlier, exhortation and invocation was delivered by Rev Dr Mongzeung Mpom, Pastor of JTLBC. Keyiranding Hegui, ADC Peren, and the convenor of the organizing committee, delivered the welcome note. The inaugural function was presided over by Er. KidosapSiarau, SDO Power, and oath administered by Er. Asembe Mbungcha, SDO PWD (R&B).
At the three-day sports extravaganza, participants will compete in a variety of disciplines, including Table Tennis, Carrom, Penalty Shoot-out, Arm Wrestling, Chess, and Badminton.
The tourney is scheduled to conclude in November 30.
