A Golden Legacy: GHSS Noklak celebrates 50 years

NOKLAK, OCTOBER 25 (MExN): The Golden Jubilee celebration of Government Higher Secondary School, Noklak under the theme 'A Golden Legacy' was held on October 25 at Multi-Disciplinary Stadium, Noklak.

A DIPR report stated that MLA P. Longon while speaking on the occasion as a special guest, congratulated the teachers, staff and students of GHSS Noklak on reaching this important milestone. He also paid his compliments and respect to the pioneers who had brought this institution to its present status and level of growth. “Today, we celebrate this occasion because of the sincere service and hard work rendered by the pioneers of this school,” he reminded. 

As an alumnus and former teacher of GHSS Noklak, P. Longon expressed his immense pride and gratitude to celebrate 50 remarkable years of the GHSS Noklak journey while maintaining that the school gave him the joy of learning and fulfillment of teaching. 

He mentioned that teaching is a noble profession that plays a vital role in shaping individuals, communities and society as a whole. It requires a unique blend of knowledge, skills and personal qualities and thus teachers deserve respect, appreciation and support for their contribution to society. 

Further, P. Longon urged upon the teachers, staff, students and all the various stakeholders to perform their respective roles and collectively join hands to restore/regain the good name of the school and the trust of the people. Earlier, P. Longon unveiled the jubilee monolith and also released a souvenir.

In his address, Er. Leyang, Additional Chief Engineer & HoD, PHED said that as an alumnus of GHSS Noklak, this school had brought up many good students and achieved great heights. He urged them to keep the same spirit in the days to come.  While encouraging the students, he advised them to go on the right path with a clear mindset, be hardworking and be honest so that they will achieve success in life.  He also said that students should avoid taking intoxicated substances and other unethical activities. Further he urged the students to learn respect for elders, parents and teachers.

EAC Noklak Bangjunglemba and President Khiamniungan Students Union, Shangchiu also spoke during the occasion.

Jubilee greetings and facilitation were presented by M Ngou, Planning Board, special prayer was led by Rev Hempao ES KBCA, and special songs by the School Choir and GHSS students. Vote of thanks was delivered by principal GHSS Noklak Y Kongkhao Lushing while the program was chaired by Arenkaba and Tsuwing Khiamniungan.
