‘A walk into a fading heritage’ photography exhibition today

Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): ‘A walk into a fading heritage’- an ethnographic photography exhibition hosted by Donindra Yengkhom will be held on February 14 at 10:00 am at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima. 

According to a press release from Donindra Yengkhom, a photographer representing his firm ‘Fading HeritageTM,’ a not-for-profit media production house based in Dimapur, the exhibition will display “many legendary stories from across the villages of North East India find listeners through a series of photo essays depicting the many facets of our people, our place and our culture. The tales of which have emerged out of Morungs, out of peoples’ bravery, and out of lands that are enchanted by the diverse cultural heritage and festivities which is fighting the wave of modern-day evolution of urban living in a cosmopolitan society.” 

The photographer has been documenting the Naga Cultural Heritage by means of digital still photography and short documentary films with an aim and objective to preserve, protect and promote the diverse tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Nagaland in particular and NE India in general, the release informed.  

“For this purpose, I have initiated a Coffee-Table Photo-Book Publication Project titled ‘Welcome to Nagaland”. The Coffee-Table Photo-Book will be depicting the rich old cultural heritage of all the Naga Tribes of Nagaland with an aim and objective to preserve, protect and promote our people, our place and our culture,” he added.

The Coffee-Table Photo-Book will represent the Living Heritage of the present day Naga Tribe that is fast fading away in this modern world that we all live in now. 

‘A Walk into A Fading Heritage’, according to him is a “crowd funding promotional photography exhibition in aid to publish a coffee-table photo-book titled – ‘welcome to Nagaland.’
