AAAC team visits State College of Teacher Education

Kohima, July 26 (MExN): The Academic and Administrative Audit Committee (AAAC) formed recently under Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima, Government of Nagaland visited State College of Teacher Education (SCTE), Kohima on July 25. This is the third visit to a college within Nagaland by the AAAC. The Directorate deputes teams comprising of different members to inspect colleges.  

A press release from a team member informed that AAAC was formed with a motive to assess and audit the colleges- private and government, private universities and autonomous institutions within the purview of the State. Though it is at its budding stage, it hopes to bring forth the much talked about “quality education” in the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the State, it added.  

The Committee will give priority to institutions expecting to have the UGC-NAAC Peer team for accreditation soon and give them preparatory inspection so that the said institution can fully, in its best capacity, be prepared for its external visit.  

Dr. Visakhonu Hibo, Principal, Japfü Christian College as Convenor, Dr. Watijungshi, Principal of Kohima College, and James HK, Head, Dept. of English, St. Joseph’s College as members visited SCTE. Earlier, Kohima College and Kros College, Kohima were visited on different days by different teams deputed by the Directorate.  

“The Directorate is positively hopeful of fruitful outcome for the institutions in the state of various statuses to impart quality education through all these calisthenics,” the release stated.  

It expressed that such assessment and audit of institutions is hoped to bring desired outcomes from the stakeholders.
