Aadhaar centre in Longleng launched

Longleng, January 16 (MExN): The Aadhaar centre in Longleng was launched at the Deputy Commissioner office on January 15. The DC Longleng, M Shayung Phom in his short speech asserted that “the programme for the opening of Aadhaar centre was necessary to avoid misunderstanding in the fees charged for the Aadhaar enrolment because internet bill would be made from the Aadhar enrolment fees.” 

According to a DIPR report, the DC informed that to avoid any problems in the future one administrative officer as a nodal officer was assigned to look into the affairs of the Aadhaar centre to redress any issues. He urged the gathering NGOS to extend their cooperation and support to the centre. He also requested the Aadhaar supervisor to be sincere and cater best service to the people. 

In his keynote address, the SDO civil Longleng Trongdiba T Sangtam highlighted the hardships faced by the district administration headed by the DC M Shayung Phom to reinstall the Aadhaar centre at DC office, Longleng due to various factors like clearance of pending telephone bills, connection of new internet facility for smooth functioning of the Aadhaar centre, lockdown, etc. 

He informed that new Airtel internet connectivity is expensive and therefore, fee charged for Aadhaar enrolment or corrections would be little higher compared to normal fees charged in other districts. Clarifying that minimum extra fees charged would be incurred to meet the internet bills of the Airtel Company to be paid in four installments annually, he urged the gathering NGOs and civil societies to understand the problem and disseminate the information to their respective jurisdiction.

The DAO Longleng Yongjang Phom also spoke on requirement of Aadhaar for beneficiaries in various central flagship programmes and its importance in other purpose. He urged the gathering to provide right information during the Aadhaar enrollment.

Representation from PPC, Phomla Hoichem, president all ward union and spoke and extended their appreciation to the district administration for opening the Aadhaar centre and redressing the hardships of the people.
