Kohima, October 25 (MExN): The All Angami Goan Burah Association (AAGBA) today stated it “stoutly” reject the decision to extend the tenure of the officer bearers of the Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) for the next term until 2025 as per the NGBF’s constitution.
In a press release issued by its President Thepfukedo Koutsu and Secretary Zelvi Sale, the AAGBA informed that the decision for the same was taken at its executive meeting held in Kohima on October 21.
As per the release, at a meeting held on October 7, the NGBF’s executive decided that the officer bearers’ tenure will be “extended/elected for next term until 2025.”
However, as per the Article 10 of the NGBF’s Constitution, it is clearly mentioned that “a candidate once held the post of president shall not be nominated for second time,” it pointed out.
Accordingly, the AAGBA stated that it rejects the decision as the NGBF constitution.
Meanwhile, the AAGBA expressed its wish that the two groups of the Dimapur District Gaon Burah Association must come together and find a “reasonable and prudent decision.”
