
Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The annual general body meeting of Anglers’ Association of Nagaland was held in the conference hall of Hotel Saramati on September 10.
The meeting focused on the growth of the association through promoting angling in the state and creating awareness of sustained conservation of fish in Nagaland. The meeting also discussed the association’s achievement and various activities, including formation of district chapters across the state.
After three years of formation, AAN now has more than 500 members across the state and is also affiliated to All India Game Fishing Association, a press release informed. Speaking on the occasion, outgoing president Issac Zhimomi thanked the members for supporting him and his team of office bearers and contributing equally in the course of three years giving momentum to the association. He was optimistic that with the zeal and enthusiasm of the members, the association will be able to achieve its aims and objectives.
Constitution redrafting committee headed by the Er. Mulato Chishi presented the redrafted constitution for the approval of the house. Outgoing general secretary Phukato Sumi and finance secretary Subasish Das presented their reports respectively. A new team of office bearers headed by Phukato Zhimomi as president was selected by the executive committee. Voicing enthusiasm to take the association forward, Phukato sought cooperation from all members.
Members of Anglers’ Association Mokokchung, which is affiliated to AAN, led by its general secretary Shilu Lemtur attended the meeting.
