DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): The Aam Admi Party (AAP) Nagaland has questioned how the personnel manning the Forensic Science Lab in Dimapur are recruited, and said that such personnel should be recruited through the NPSC. A press release from the AAP Nagaland noted that the lab is headed by a Joint Director level officer and “supposedly is well equipped.” “Since it is well equipped, are competent and qualified manpower handling the equipment and are also overseen well by competent and qualified officers?” the AAP questioned. The party meanwhile acknowledged that in criminal cases where the expertise of the Forensic Department is required, “it is handling it well and it is no longer sent to Guwahati or Kolkata which costs time and also drains out unnecessary money from the public exchequer.” It asked the government to answer its queries to enlighten the citizens of the State at the earliest possible time.
