AAP Youth Wing visits Dimapur Dist Hospital

Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Dimapur Youth Wing under the leadership of Akashe Naga along with his team visited Dimapur District Hospital on July 4. The team distributed tea and biscuits to the hospital nurses, doctors, patients and their relatives.

A press note from the APP Dimapur Youth Wing stated that the inmates of the hospital were surprised to see the initiatives and many patients acknowledged it as the first of its kind in Nagaland undertaken by a political party. The team visited all the cabins and wards twice and had interactions with the patients and their family attendants and documented those interviews with the consent of them.

During the interaction, few concerns were shared by the patients and families about District Hospital Dimapur, such as poor infrastructure and pathetic maintenances of the old building.

Many complained that the room service for cleaning the hospital comes only once a day in the morning. In some wards it was observed that dustbins were missing, and even those provided were not cleaned properly. The patients and the family expressed concern of being infected with infectious diseases from the unclean window curtains and dustbins. It was also shared that they have no idea of any free medicines or other items been given away.

Another lamented that the doctors were seen only once in the morning between 9:00-10:00am.

Meanwhile, AAP Nagaland has made an earnest request to the hospital authority to take care of basic amenities and the needy people of Nagaland.
