Mon, January 15 (MExN): The Aboi Area Students’ Union (AASU), 33rd general session cum cultural, literary and sport meet kicked off on January 15 at Local Ground, Ngangching Village, under the theme ‘Together with new vision.’ The session will continue till January 18.
Minister for Higher Education & Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along graced the inaugural programme of the cultural day as a special guest. Speaking at the occasion, the Minister said, “All of us are part and parcel of our future.” He encouraged the participants “to play well, study well and do consistently with discipline and build Naga society.”
“Be a counted person, and an exemplar to others. One may not contribute gold or silver, but one can contribute one’s hard work to society,” he stated.
He challenged the students to change their mindset from backward, and broaden their minds, to give their best in studies with fear of God.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mon Thavaseelan K IAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner Aboi, Joint Director Higher Education, Menukholie Kire, and Er Kelie EE School Education, District President, BJP Mon District, Mankhao Konyak, OSD to CM Government of Nagaland, Chairperson NSCPCR.
Shahang, the first KU President Aboi unit and the vice Chairman Adhoc Town Committee Aboi, addressing the gathering encouraged the students to put more effort in their studies. He requested the Gazette officers from Aboi area to attend such programme to encourage the students. Ango, Chairman Ngangching Village Council also delivered a short speech.
Earlier, the Minister was received by the AASU cultural troupe, took salute from NVG Ngangching Village. The Minister also unfurled the AASU Flag, while the Konyak Anthem was sung by Ngangching Bumeinok Choir.
The Minister also visited the Polytechnic building construction at Aboi. The building construction started since 2014. During the visit, the Minister said that he will try to complete the building construction and start the academic session this year.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Awan Konyak shared the grievances of Aboi public, the incomplete construction of Polytechnic building, Model School, the under construction of IRB Camp and the most importantly the concerns for establishment of Aboi District.
