IMPUR, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): The third interface meeting between the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), the Mokokchung Aor Officers’ Telungjem (MAOT), and Ao Senden was held at Impur on October 16. The meeting was described as exceptionally productive, setting the stage for major community initiatives aimed at addressing pressing socio-economic and cultural challenges.

According to the ABAM, the deliberations laid the groundwork for transformative actions that have the potential to strengthen and sustain the Ao community’s collective well-being. Among the major developments to be tabled in the forthcoming ABAM Executive meeting are a comprehensive survey on depopulation, the revival of Impur Christian Hospital, and the transformation of the Impur Museum into an educational centre.

The proposed district-wide depopulation survey will use a targeted questionnaire to identify the root causes of population decline and propose effective countermeasures. The revival of Impur Christian Hospital was also identified as a priority, requiring not just a change in ownership but a strategic mobilization of resources to restore accessible and quality healthcare for the public.

In addition, the meeting envisioned transforming the Impur Museum into a vibrant educational space that would “empower and inspire future generations.” The plan includes procedural measures to ensure that the museum evolves into a centre for learning and cultural enrichment.

“These initiatives represent a significant step forward in fostering sustainable development that truly benefits our community,” stated the ABAM in its release.

“We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and the positive impact of our collective efforts. We pray to our Almighty God to provide every single need to fulfill our dreams,” said Rev. Temsü Jamir, Executive Secretary, ABAM.
