ABAM memorandum to DC Mokokchung

Sub: Request for effective Implementation of the “Total Prohibition Act”

This memorandum is a continues effort of the ABAM to voice for the implementation of the “Nagaland Total Prohibition Act 1989 (NLTP)”. We acknowledge the efforts taken by the Government and the Excise department in particular, but unfortunately the use of alcohol and Drugs has gone beyond our control, and our people are rapidly marching towards a doom. Sensing the urgent need of the implementation of the “Total prohibition Act” the ABAM has resolved to Organized  ‘a Prayer Walk’ under the theme: “Rescue” on this Day the 28th Feb. 2012 at Mokokchung Town (Vide:  AKTL 2011-16 Dt 17-19 Nov. 2011).

Today, as part of an historic meeting, we once again reaffirm that the ABAM is committed to fully implement “The total Prohibition Act,” toward that direction,  We will work together with the Government of Nagaland to ensure that THE Act is implemented effectively.

The ABAM has come up with five steps strategies to eradicate the use of “Alcohol and Drugs” within 10 years in our land, they are: Contd…
1.    To  organized prayer  Walk, meeting ,  seminar etc  occasionally
2.    To form “Social Concern Committee” in every local church under ABAM, inorder to educate and care for the addicts/victims.
3.    To encourage   Government agencies and NGOs to implement THE ACT effectively.
4.    Educate through Literature (Press release & Books)
5.    Impart education through statistics (Data collection and analysis).
The ABAM is deeply concern about the future of our land and people and sincerely request the Government of Nagaland and all its agencies to ensure   to effectively implement the “Nagaland Total Prohibition Act.”
This memorandum is intended to improve the implementation of the “Total Prohibition Act” for the benefit of our citizen.
