India, Bhutan celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations

Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): Abiogenesis along with select artistes from North East performed in Thimpu, Trongsa and Gedu in Bhutan to commemorate 50 years of Bhutan-India Diplomatic Relations.   Abiogenesis in a press release informed that the first show was held at the Royal University of Bhutan on February 24 in presence of Jaideep Sarkar, Indian Ambassador to Bhutan along with some Union Cabinet Ministers of Bhutan. The second was held at the College of Language & Cultural Studies in Taltse, Trongsa, the third at the Indian Dam Construction Camp in Trongsa and Culminated at the Gedu College of Business Studies at Gedu in presence of Pieyush Guptam, Indian Consul General to Bhutan, Phuentsholing.   The colourful and vibrant culture of North East India was articulated through the Bamboo Dance of Mizoram, Folk and Martial Arts of Manipur, Bihu dance of Assam, Acrobatic Hozagiri Dance of Tripura, Songs of Arunachal Pradesh and Folk Music of Meghalaya. The modern section was showcased through Naga Howeymusic by Abiogenesis of Nagaland and Western Music by Bhooma and Band of Mizoram.   The Bhutan Tour was initiated by The Regional Director, Shillong ICCR Regional Office. The three first shows were organized by Nehru Wangchuk Centre, Thimpu and the fourth show by the Indian Consulate, Phuentsholing. The touring team was sponsored by NEC, Shillong.
