Mon, February 18 (MExN): The Aboi Town Student’s Union (ATSU) has issued a statement cautioning truant government employees to immediately report to their places of posting or have their names published in the local dailies.
In a press release received on Tuesday, the student body said that absenteeism of Government employees posted at Aboi town is causing immense hardship and inconvenience to the public. It has become a matter of public concern that most of the government offices are closed indefinitely and many government employees remain out of the station, it said.
As such, it requested the Aboi Additional Deputy Commissioner to initiate necessary action to ensure all government employees stay in station and attend offices regularly. “The fundamental guideline ‘No Work, No Pay’ should be implemented at the earliest on priority,” it added.
“You are doing great disservice by staying at your comfort zone away from your place of posting and drawing salaries which you have not worked for,” the ATSU stated.
Further, it informed the government employees to immediately report to their stations and cautioned that employees found absent without leave from the appropriate authority “will face the wrath of the union.” The names of the erring employees shall also be published in the local dailies demanding the concerned department to initiate necessary disciplinary action, it stated.
