ACAUT appeals public not to be swayed by ‘false propagandas’

Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland has appealed to the people not to be swayed by the “false propagandas and designs of corrupt forces trying to give tribal, political, organizational color to discredit ACAUT and the people’s movement against corruption.”

In a press release issued by its Media Cell, ACAUT Nagaland reaffirmed that it is a people’s movement and any individual believing in the cause against the evils of unabated taxation and corruption is a part of the movement. “Therefore, it is important to let the Naga public know that the fight against corruption is on the plane of individual’s consciousness.”

ACAUT Nagaland also thanked all organizations and individuals from various walks of life for their support and solidarity in the recent incident over the allegation of PDS rice scam and also for participating in signature campaign and braving police baton, water cannon, and tear gas.

“ACAUT Nagaland is overwhelmed that after the exposure of rice scam (PDS) in F&CS department, people from various walks of life believed in the cause and came forward despite the psychological and physical threats by the state machinery. This united stand of the people has opened a new chapter in Naga peoples fight against corruption,” it stated.

ACAUT Nagaland also thanked NTC, CNTC, DUCCF and Lotha Hoho for “taking the exceptional lead in reaching out to complainant to control the situation going awry and showing their genuine concern for the Naga Society during the times of brutality and unwarranted situation created by the state machinery ignoring the ground reality to appease their political bosses.”
