ACCC Pungro-Kiphire calls for immediate revocation of NPCC suspension order

KIPHIRE, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): The ACCC 60 A/C Pungro-Kiphire has sought immediate revocation of the NPCC notification of November 19 and letter dated November 20, 2024 regarding the suspension of DCC Kiphire and all its subordinate committees and the elected PCCs of both 59 & 60 A/C for a period of 30 days and thereby formation of new team.

In a letter to NPCC President, Kamkiu, the President of ACCC 60 A/C, and L Achumba, the General Secretary, emphasized that DCC Kiphire has been fully committed to the directives and guidelines set by both the NPCC and the All India Congress Committee (AICC). They further stated that the DCC has worked tirelessly to strengthen the party in the district, collaborating with all ACCCs and PCCs to ensure smooth party operations.

The letter reiterated the support of the ACCC 60 A/C for the DCC and PCC members, acknowledging their dedication and service to the party’s growth at both the district and constituency levels. The ACCC 60 A/C expressed strong opposition to the involvement of Lithriyem Yimkhiung, stating that he had never been enrolled under the 60 A/C or the DCC Kiphire. They also pointed out that his recommendation for the post of PCC Secretary was not done through the proper channels and lacked the approval of the DCC or ACCC 60 A/C.

The letter further criticized Lithriyem Yimkhiung’s actions, alleging his interference in the party’s internal affairs, including his unofficial visit to Kiphire, where he reportedly delivered a provocative speech and disregarded the DCC’s authority. According to the ACCC 60 A/C, his conduct has led to internal unrest within the party and has contributed to the current turmoil.

The letter also accused Lithriyem Yimkhiung of manipulating official documents to reorganize the DCC and ACCC without the knowledge of Longtili C Sangtam, who had been duly appointed by the NPCC. The ACCC 60 A/C condemned this as unconstitutional and detrimental to the party’s cohesion.

Additionally, the ACCC 60 A/C expressed strong disapproval of the suspension of Throngdiba C Sangtam, the elected PCC member, calling it unjust and unconstitutional. The letter highlighted the tireless contributions of the PCC members, both financially and physically, to the party’s survival and progress at various levels.

The ACCC 60 A/C urged the NPCC leadership to address the issue swiftly and resolve the matter in the larger interest of the public and the proper functioning of the Congress party in Kiphire. The letter appealed the NPCC President to immediately revoke the suspension order to restore order and unity within the party.
