Acharya, Zeliang extend Chaga Gadi/Langsimnyi greetings

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya and leader of opposition TR Zeliang has extended warm greetings to the Zeliang community on the occasion of Chaga Gadi/Langsimnyi festivals.  

In a message the Governor called on all to continue safeguarding and promoting the rich culture and traditions through the festivals and to come together and rededicate ourselves to make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and for all round development in the State.  

He also expressed his hope that the Zeliang community would continue to preserve and promote their age-old traditions and showcase the rich cultural heritage as they celebrate their premier festival, a press note from the PRO to Governor informed.  

“May the festivals of Chaga Gadi and Langsimnyi bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Zeliang’s in particular and Nagas in general,” he added.  

Meanwhile, TR Zeliang also extended his greetings to the Zeliang community on the occasion of Chega-Gadi/Lamsimnyi festival, one of the most significant festivals of the Zeliang Tribe.  

As a festival of love, joy and forgiveness “may this festive season strengthen the bond of family with the virtue of care and sharing with each other,” he said in a message. “Let this festival remind us of the abundant traditional values and virtues in which our forefathers were deeply rooted and imbibe the rich cultural heritage and the heart for honesty, respect, hard work, kindness and courage of our forefathers,” he added.
