Mokokchung | January 9 : In the first match of the on going MDCA tourney played on Saturday, at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Ebullient beat Subash by 20 runs. Subash after winning the toss put Ebullient in to bat, who managed to put onboard 108 runs in the allotted 20 overs at the loss of 8 wickets. Subash in return were all out, managing to score only 88 runs. Ebullient’s Chubatemsu, who took 4 wickets, was the obvious Man of the Match.
The second match, played at the same venue, had Skylark beating Vincent by 5 wickets. Vincent had won the toss and elected to bat. They put on a total of 127 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. The match went down the wire but Skylark eventually prevailed, winning by 5 wickets. Tiakaba of Skylark was declared the Man of the Match for his knock of 42 runs.
In the other two matches, played the same day at the Assam Rifles' Ground, Suzerain beat Wolverine by one wicket, while Sangpang Riju beat Bachelors by 53 runs. Wolverine were bowled out for 103 runs. Mayangtuba of Suzerain took 3 wickets and was declared Man of the Match. Sangpang Riju winning the toss, elected to bat and scored 109 runs while losing 7 wickets. Bachelors were bundled out for a paltry 66 runs. Sangpang Riju's Saroba was the man of the Match for his all-round display with the bat and ball.
