The four-day long golden jubilee celebrations of the Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA) coinciding with the 33rd triennial convention commenced today at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) ground, Sechü-Zubza in Kohima district.

The inaugural session was graced by State Information Commissioner, advisor and former president to the Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) Nosazol Charles, as the session guest.

Addressing the gathering, Charles advised the youth to be rooted in Christ and to do away with evil.

As he expressed that elders of the church have confidence and expectations on the youth, he urged upon the youths to live an honest and righteous life as youths are pillars of the community.

Further, Charles encouraged the youths to embrace responsibility and live a life that reflects the values of the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Later, Vicar General, Diocese of Kohima, Rev Fr Neisalhou Carolus Kuotsu graced the second session as the speaker and ACYA former executives (1975-82) as session guests.

Speaking on the topic "March on courageously," Fr Carolus made Biblical references stating that God is omnipresent. With the presence of the almighty, he said that all things are possible. However, he questioned if the faithful are always with God.

He stressed on the importance of loving one's church, viewing it as God's place of worship, and advocated for adherence to the church's teachings. Blessing the gathering, he encouraged the youth to be courageous and to embrace the teachings of the Church that God has built.
