Kohima, September 28 (MExN): Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA) organized free medical camps in three different villages - Zhadima, Razaphe and Kigwema - on September 11, 18 and 25 respectively.
The medical camp was part of the ACYA’s Annual Plan for the Year 2016-17 under the theme ‘Year of Mercy.’ Also, the camp was conducted with a motive to reach to children and old people and needy people having constraints in accessing essential medical treatments.
Around 900 patients enrolled for free health check-up. Further, blood grouping tests and various medical services were delivered to the patients and accordingly free medicines were distributed to all the patients.
The successful implementation of the camp was because of the voluntary and joint efforts of Catholic doctors, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, well wishers, hosting parishes, ACYA youths etc, the association stated in a press release.
“ACYA envisages in organizing such camps for the welfare of the under-privileged sections even in the coming years,” it added.
