Kohima, March 15 (MExN): The Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA) Central Executives organized a wonderful and memorable “Way of the Cross” on March 12 last.
The youths get together at the waiting shed, way to Puliebadze, Jotsoma Village and start the observance. It was an occasion to renew one’s faith. To say it was part of a religious ceremony, a ceremony that reflects Christ’s sufferings, passion and death to redeem all sinners. It was a moment to accompany Jesus on His journey of sorrow and love. We partake this in our simple way, a release received here said.
The Catholic called this “the way of the Cross”- a symbol reverence, where the faithful accompany and share Christ agony and pains through prayers, contemplating on the 14th momentous events known as the fourteen stations, when Christ toil up carrying a heavy cross enduring extreme sufferings for us. This is all because of His Love for mankind. The Cross of Christ contains all the love of God, His immeasurable mercy. The way of the cross is mostly done during the Lent season till the Good Friday (Catholics).
Around 135 ACYA members, representing the five regions of the Angami’s attended the programme, set at legendary Puliebadze. The members assembled in front of the “Eco-Tourist” spot for invocation of God’s blessing, a short briefing and introduction and proceed upward saying the prayers, halting and reflecting the passion of Christ in every station.
“During the journey we believed we have had also proclaim the death and resurrection of Christ,” a release received here said.
