Nagaland Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) office complex and the Higher Secondary Block of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in Tening, Peren district.
Speaking at a public function held at Tening Town Hall, Khamo urged citizens to embrace development with a culture of hard work and honesty. He stressed the need for a positive mindset, guided by faith and trust in God.
Stating that government jobs have reached saturation, he highlighted the importance of preparing for competitive examinations conducted by the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB). Khamo also underscored the role of skill development and entrepreneurship in addressing the state's unemployment challenges, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
He said Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has maintained peace in the state while leading reforms across education, health, and professional development sectors. Calling for collective responsibility, he encouraged community participation to support the state’s progress and urged citizens to contribute to unity and peace.
Khamo noted that only qualified teachers are appointed to government schools and called on the public to support teachers and institutions. He asked teachers to give their best efforts to ensure quality education, affirming the government's commitment to delivering better services. He also emphasized the government’s aspiration to make Nagaland a “state of excellence,” which he said requires collective vision and united efforts.
MLA Namri Nchang, who attended as the guest of honour, said the inauguration marked a significant milestone for the people of Tening sub-division. He called for increased student enrolment at GHSS Tening, noting that qualified faculty have been posted. Nchang also urged the public and leaders to take ownership of public infrastructure, promote sustainable practices, and encourage harmony with nature.
Peren Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru lauded the Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) for the timely completion of the infrastructure projects and called upon citizens to maintain and protect public properties.
A technical report on the projects was presented by Sungtiba Amer, Assistant Chief Engineer, CAWD, Office of the Commissioner, Nagaland. The welcome address was delivered by K Furhesie Nyuwi, ADC Tening.
