ADC Tizit responds to KSU

DIMAPUR, OCT 14 (MExN): Responding to a news item appearing in a section of the local media wherein the Konyak Students Union (KSU) had demanded that the ADC Tizit be expelled for negligence of duty, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tizit Ningsangtemsu has termed the comments made by the KSU as uncalled for. “As a pressure group the KSU should try to work hand in hand with the government machineries. The News item which says that I have abused the KSU officials when they came to my residence is false allegation as I have not abused them at all. This allegation is made to defame me”, the ADC stated in a press rejoinder.

Ningsangtemsu pointed out that he had not ‘mishandled the situation’ nor done any thing to hurt the sentiments of the KSU officials. “I have tried all necessary means for safety of the public during the clashes between the rival NSCN factions and have also reported to the higher ups about the clashes for which one platoon of IRB’s have been deployed to Lapa Lampong on 6th October, 2005 from Mon”, he stated.

As for the information carried about lawlessness and anarchy in Tizit, the ADC stated this to be untrue. “If there is lawlessness will the police personnel’s go for patrolling duty? The security personnel’s are doing patrolling duty in order to avoid occurrence of any such factional firings”.

Regarding the KSU demand to provide security to each and every house hold, the ADC pointed out that he had explained to the KSU that it would have been impossible to deploy security personals to each and every house hold.

The ADC also clarified that he had never said, as appeared in news item, that the situation of Tizit was a political problem which the centre and state government cannot solve. “I only said that this is a political issue ADC Tizit alone cannot solve the issue”.

Explaining the predicament faced the ADC stated that he was trying his best to protect the public despite lack of manpower. “The KSU should bring out ideas, views, and suggestions and advise the administration for solving the problems and to do something about the future occurrence of factional clashes, instead of blaming the Administration”.

The ADC also pointed out that despite having Puja holidays; the administrative officers decided to remain in station for the welfare of public and for controlling the situation. “Every possible steps, preventive measures, and arrangements is made for the security of the Tizit public”, he assured.
