Adhoc teachers' indefinite hunger strike from June 27

DIMAPUR, JUNE 25 (MExN): With the state government non-committal to the demand made by the aggrieved adhoc teachers, the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group 2015 Batch (ANATG-2015) has warned that it would continue with its next phase of agitation beginning June 27, 2018 in the form of an indefinite hunger strike.

The adhoc teachers in a press release on Monday said the ANATG-2015 Batch have been exercising their democratic form of protest in phase-wise agitation since April 16, 2018 starting from pen down strike, to boycotting of classes, peaceful sit-in protest to placard demonstration at the Directorate of School Education.

And during the course of the agitations, numerous appeals and pleas were submitted to the state government and the department for regularizing 1166 grade-III adhoc teachers without any positive response from the government.

The aggrieved adhoc teachers had also written an appeal to the Advisor, School Education, on June 25 with plea to forward their agenda to the cabinet cell for service regularization on top priority. While appealing every right thinking citizen and the students’ bodies and apex organizations to support their legitimate demand, the aggrieved teachers vowed to continue protest till their demand for service regularization were met.

ANHTU questions DoSE for not releasing salary despite sanction by Finance dept

DIMAPUR, JUNE 25 (MExN): The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (ANHTU) has questioned the Department of School Education (DoSE) for not releasing the salary of Hindi teachers for the month of March and April, 2018.

A press release issued by ANHTU maintained that the Finance Department of Nagaland has already released the sanction order of salary for the month of March and April on June 8, 2018 for the 1357 Hindi teachers, 2012-13 batches. Despite the sanction order, the DoSE has not released the salaries, the Union stated while questioning the Director for the same. The Union also questioned “if this is an act of protest against the order of the State Government or a gesture of discrimination towards the Hindi teachers.”

The Finance Department is ready to release the sanction order for May and June too, given the proposal, the Union claimed. While alleging that the aggrieved Hindi teachers are still suffering due to complete negligence of the department, the Union has sought proper explanation from the Department for the delay even after repeated reminders of the hardships faced by the 1357 Hindi teachers. The Union has also requested the Department to stop provoking further agitations.
