Admin, Police warn undisciplined students

Dimapur, September 21 (MExN): The district authorities and police administration of Dimapur today issued a strong warning to all students and parents that any act or activity of indiscipline by students would invite prosecution. An advisory from the authorities received here today warned that activities of breach and indiscipline from students would not be tolerated in any way and would certainly attract strong  government response. 

It was also made clear that students above the age of 16, found guilty of breach and offense, of breach of citizen’s peace and security would  be imprisoned. 

An advisory to all students, parents  and  schools in Dimapur district has been issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur. The advisory is understood to be in reference to the recent spate in cases  of  ‘gang fights’ among students from different schools in Dimapur. The Dimapur administration  stated that “there is an act of indiscipline by students enrolled in schools in Dimapur district that has attracted the attention of district administration and district police. And  whereas there have been instances of students  of  one  school beating up the other school to a fight.” 

Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate of Dimapur, Maongwati Aier, stated in the advisory that such situations have been ‘catastrophic’ but averted by the timely intervention of the administration, district police and the DNSU. “Hence, to prevent such recurrences of incidents this public advisory to parents and students in all the schools  in Dimapur district is given and directed that any act of such indiscipline will not be tolerated and the guilty shall  be prosecuted as per the provision of law,” the  administration  warned.

It also mentioned that students  above the age of 16 years, and found guilty are to be imprisoned and prosecuted in accordance with  law. All  students  are  directed  to refrain  from  any  unlawful  activity  affecting  the  security of the citizens of Dimapur.
