Dimapur, November 21 (MExN): The Can Youth ‘Development 4 Adolescent’ project formed an Adolescent Rights Support Group (ARGS) at Darogajan village, Dimapur with the community leaders on November 21. 

The meeting was attended by community leaders including GBs, village councils, women association, youth leaders and adolescent club members. 

The session was headed by Sentiwati, Project Coordinator, Can Youth where he briefly explained about the guidelines for Adolescent Rights Support Group (ARSG). 

The main purpose of adolescents support group is to promote child rights, enhancing quality education, ensure safety on health, promote psychological well being, building leadership skill and to oversee the functioning of adolescents by preventing drop-out, substance use, child labour, early pregnancy, engage in risk taking behavior and anti-social activities as they are highly vulnerable to it. 

“This group is also to provide platform and opportunities especially focusing on the drop-out and ensure guidance and support to the needy,” stated a press release from Can Youth. 

The committee was formed which consist of eight members from representative of each community leaders i.e. Gaun Bura, one village council member, two from Darogajan Women Association, two from Darogajan Youth Association and two from Darogajan Adolescent Club.
