Kiphire: Two days Saakshar Bharat interpersonal media campaign organized by State Level Mission Authority in collaboration with District Level Mission Authority Kiphire commenced today at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall. Neposo Theluo DC & Chairmen DLMA was chief guest of the programme, which was attended by all the adult educators in the district.
Calling upon the adult educators, the chief guest said, “If a person is not educated he or she will never be productive. Rather that person will create havoc to society.” He challenged the adult educators to make 100% literacy in the respective field of assignment so that the objective of Saakshar Bharat or literate India is accomplished. Emphasizing more on work culture the DC said, “If all of us work hard there will be no problem to bring change.” He asked the gathering to harness the potential of the youths especially from the age group of 15-35 years. He added that the report submitted in paper is very impressive and encouraged to show the report in the ground as well. Stressing on the importance of education, the DC said, “it is only through education, society can progress.” He asked the educators to equip the adults with skill development and other livelihood activities so that the concept of Government job, which is presumed to be the only solution for Nagas, is done away with.
R. Ekonthong, Lotha Nodal officer DSE Kohima who gave keynote address shared on the history of Saakshar Bharat and its establishment in India. He said that Saakshar Bharat is implemented in all over the country and in Nagaland it is implemented in four districts in Nagaland. He informed that this programme is imparting training and skill up gradation to drop out adult and the emphasis is given to women folks.
Deenabandhu Panda DEO & Secretary DLMA chaired the programme while Narola Block Co-coordinator proposed welcome address and R. Rangkha propose vote of thanks.
