‘Advances in remote sensing and GIS applications’ seminar held

Shillong, July 17 (MExN): The North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) organised a two day seminar on "Advances in Remote Sensing and GIS Applications" May 10 & 11, with one day pre-seminar tutorial on UAV Remote Sensing. According to a delayed report from DIPR, the event was jointly organized by the Indian Society of Remote Sensing, Shillong Chapter, Indian Society of Geomatics, Shillong Chapter, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong and NESAC.   The seminar, one of its kind organized at NESAC, focused on Optical, Microwave, LIDAR, hyperspectral and UAV remote sensing applications and advances including high resolution data processing and geospatial modeling with special emphasis on issues and challenges of North Eastern. Governor of Meghalaya inaugurated the Seminar on May 10. North Eastern Council was the major sponsor of the seminar, the report said.
