Advisor Imkong L Imchen visits Chungtia, Aliba and Sapangya Compound

Chungtia, November 6 (MExN): Advisor for IPR and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, visited Chungtia, Aliba villages, and Sapangya Compound on November 5.

Interacting with the Chungtia village council members and elders in connection with the upcoming Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) General Conference, scheduled to be held at Chungtia village from January 12 to 15, 2026, Imchen said that though he is a native of Mangmetong village, he always holds the people of Chungtia village dear in his heart. 

He assured that he would support and contribute in every way possible to ensure a successful event.

The Advisor also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio for his strong consent in extending and allocating funds from the Other Roads Fund for repairing roads at Chungtia village, which forms part of the preparations for the upcoming AKM General Conference. 

He appealed to the village council members and citizens to support and cooperate with the concerned department so that the repair work could be implemented judiciously and completed on time.

Imchen also visited the landslide-affected area at Chungtia village, where more than twenty residential buildings were damaged due to heavy rainfall during the monsoon.

Chairman of Chungtia village, Assamwati Longchar, lauded the Advisor for his constant support towards the village. He added that while differences may arise at times, the citizens of Chungtia village always regard Imchen as the guardian and anvil of the village. On behalf of the citizens, the Chairman also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, the Advisor, and the concerned department for their support in the development of the village.

Later in the day, the Advisor also visited Sapangya Compound and Aliba village, where he interacted with the village council members, the State DIPR informed.
